I think I'm starting to understand it. Even if you mind your own business and stay out of hot water people on social media will be negative toward you regardless. You can block, mute, and ignore all the negativity sure, but it seems impossible to avoid getting glimpses no matter what you do.
It must suck getting a cameo in one of your favorite game series, one you like so much your mascot is a reference to it, just for people to question how much you really like the games and saying your coworker was more deserving. Or people accusing you of being racist for a song you didn't sing, while other people say you're a bitchy SJW and a hypocrite because of something you said when you were a teenager. It's all just garbage. No matter what you do you lose.
