1) Most people who have discussed auditioning for vtuber agencies usually have made a few attempts and even applied at different companies.
2) Except during the very earliest days, or very poor corpos who can't afford decent terms, most corpos hire only existing streamers. Presumably due to the inherent risk of hiring someone with zero work experience.
As such a lot of indie vtubers or streamers know each other from collabs and social media. And often get split up when one makes it into one corpo, and another doesn't (so maybe join another corpo).
