I definitely agree with this analysis - with the caveat that evolutionary psychology seems to indicate that neuroticism as a trait is definitely much, much higher among those with higher mutational load (what Ed Dutton calls the "spiteful mutants"; the Bioleninists, if you will) than among the normal, healthy population. Though now I am curious if they are using equivalent definitions for the term "neurosis".
