Halflife 2 might still be the best FPS ever made. lumi might be shit at games but she has a unique talent for the vicarious. few people can make sharing their first experience even more fun than a replay. it really doesn't matter which game it is. that even applies to games that are so retarded you could never hope to mentally exhaust yourself enough to enjoy them. when the content is a mere instrumentality, all that matters is that she is having fun and it will be contagious. lumi deserves to finally enjoy the good dumb fun the rest of us grew up with.
games are generally made with the assumption that the player spends most of their day on mentally taxing activities like school or work. the devs want you to think of their game as a reward for your hard work. the dumber the game, the more reliant on brute forcing relaxation. they are literally designed to turn your brain to mush. even Halflife is still just an FPS. i.e. a walking simulator with more clicking. employment normally takes enough time to preclude self-induced retardation by choice of video game. lumi is a rare example of someone whose games ARE work. you'd think she would be more concerned about preventing long-term streamer brain.
we are here to mentally hang out not mentally work out but if anything that makes it harder to see someone's brain rotting away.
