Also, their back shape makes it really hard to stay on them unless you had a custom made harness. It's fun to try once or twice as a childhood novelty, but no-one would ever expect to use them as efficient transport.
Also, some people throw boomerangs, but it's usually used as a toy like a frisbee, rather than an effective tool for hunting.
