>>649120They were never cheap, the only "custom" models that were cheap were frankenstein MMD rips with colour changes, free download clothing and hair swaps, and the good quality ones were cheaper because VRchat had a small polygon limit back in it's early days (25k If I remember correctly, which then later upgraded to 50k). VRchat models are cheaper to make too because the rigging automatically synchs up to the Unity plug-in that you have to use and removes most of the busy work, meaning you don't have to set up programming for AR blendshapes, you only have to 'set' blendshapes for blinks, fingers and important vowels for mouth movements without all the programming bullshit since VRchat's fingers, emotions and mouth movements are audio and controller triggered, not facially tracked. That isn't even taking into account the quality of those comission artists, who often times can't UV map all the textures correctly and have to use 10 different materials because they're too lazy to do their job properly and people comissioning the models don't know any better, or the fact that most of them use shit tons of un-neccassary polygons because they can't be fucked doing proper topology and chose to make up for it by generating extra processing power which affects your computer no matter what game or program you chose to use your model in.
>Plus many indies are using VRchat based 3D first and then upgrade to smth more authenticThey are, but the ones that are doing that and are actually successful have had proper artists like Shonzo or Jjinomu make their VRchat models, artists that actually have a basic concept and grasp of what they're doing who can go back and prep the model for AR facial tracking, or hand it off to someone else confidently because they have everything set up neatly. Majority of these 'upgrades', however, are Miku-clone skinjobs that use stolen assets and are forced to use dropkick programs like SUVA that melt their computers because they're the only programs that will accept their abomination.
>but it's not that complicatedFlying a plane must not be very complicated, I mean all you have to do is push the joy sticks in the right direction, right? I mean, I have no idea how to fly a plane, so I'd have no idea how complicated it actually would be to fly a plane, but airline tickets are cheap with this one shitty, bum-sniffing hobo that flew a plane once, so they must be pretty easy to fly right? I mean, it's probably not as complicated as flying a helicopter or anything, since they are way more popular.
Have this cute Matsuri before I lose my fucking mind over your retarded comment.
