Mario Kart Betting Pool – This is a bit late but if people are still interested, I’ll be setting up a betting pool for the Mario Kart tournament, we will be betting on the winner of the whole tournament. To simplify things instead of making odds for each participant, I made odds for each gen. If the winner comes from a gen you bet on you will win your bet. I’ll be using decimal odds (if you bet 1M at 3.0 odds you’ll receive 3M back if you win, your profit will be 2M basically). The odds will be dynamic and will be updated after every 5M bet. The maximum bet is 5M and the minimum bet is 100k. A user can bet at most 5M, but you can bet on multiple gens if you so feel like it. Bets will close an hour before the tournament starts. There are no cancellations or changes to be made once the bet has been processed.
>How will the process work?
I will set up a thread on the floor and you will respond with who you would like to bet on, your amount and the current odds. I will then confirm the bet and your payout if you were to win. I’ll also set up an auction for you to transfer the money to me. Once the transfer is done I will confirm the bet on the floor.
>How do the taxes work?
I will eat the taxes on the first transaction. If you bet 1M, I receive 0.95M but your expected payout will be calculated based on the 1M you put in. If you win, you will eat the taxes on the payout, let’s say you win 3M, I will bid 3M on your item but you will only receive a 2.85M payout.
