The problem is people want it to be both cheap and have low wait times, but people want to ignore the massive elephant in the room that is the fact that Americans are so unhealthy.
Yes, you CAN have both, but it requires a healthy populace that doesn't need to go to the doctor much, and that's asking a lot of the average citizen. Actually, it's NOT asking a lot of the average citizen, it's just asking them to have self control and not be a fat fuck and take care of themselves, but if they refuse to do that then there aren't many choices beyond the state stepping in like they do in Japan and Korea (and France if we're being honest), and the second you start doing shit like regulating how much sugar is in a soda, anglo countries start screaming nanny state.
