Industries of film, music, etc... also have issues but you see much more laypeople develop a deep interest in them compared to art.
AI may come to have a big impact on artists, but its not the reason why people have short attention spans and care little about small details. It just happens to thrive in this environment.
If anything this is probably making a lot of people more interested in art than before, now that they have an active role in creating it. (Especially those without the time or ability to learn.)
