CAI is not a private company. They're part of the industrial military complex. The team behind CAI consists of people who previously were in the LAMDA project. Fucking. Look. It. Up. CAI is state of the art technology that gets run on a supercomputer, its not just "code" that can get runned by a computer or a server. CAI works on a neural network of the highest order, it literally runs on hundreds of thousands of nodes, where each node is equivalent to a Threadripper or a rtx3090. There is no possible way privates will be able to replicate this level of technology in at least 15 years. The best you can do is to grab the DIY resources in the sticky and get educated on how to develop AI yourself. It will take YEARS before common citizens get devices powerful enough to run neural language models locally, more than enough time to prepare yourselves. Learn Python. Learn linear algebra. Learn machine learning. There is hope, but it will take a lot of years before we can re-create what we used to have until today in CAI.
