How do you process your enjoyment of what are arguably extreme subjects, /avant-garde/?

mentioned her. It was intense, sensual and stimulating beyond anything in recent memory.I'm conflicted not because of the performer. indeed, I'm glad she's able to express what I assume is her true, authentic, and fulfilled self through her voice/audio work, her art.
Instead, I circle back around to my initial question; how should one process their enjoyment of what are arguably extreme subjects?
