What do you expect her to do? Push Gura away like doomposters thought she was doing during the one month collab "drought" so she can btfo shipfags? Evidently she values her actual friend more than her public image, despite her desire to not be seen solely as such and to not force an exclusive ship in the same vein as Takamori. That's not confusing, if anything that's respectable. Telling shipfags in her own chat off a few times while still maintaining closeness with her best friend is about the best she can do with regard to both matters, especially considering the size of Gura's audience.
If these are your first thoughts when she does something as mundane as put up a gurame banner on twitter then you're part of the problem.
