The good news is (I think anyway) I'm starting to get better at light fantasy. I'm still far from HJanon and CoverHighAnon and the like but I'm starting to take some cues. Sounds so obvious now, but reading whatever you can is the best advice you can give to a writer outside of critiques on whatever they're writing. Reading my old work compared to my current work is insanely different and I actually find myself frustrated just how hard I missed potential on the stories I wrote. Getting better at writing is so bitter sweet like that.
