People might grab the book by looking at its cover, but if the story is shit, they're not going to read it. No amount of cover revisions are going to fix a shitty story.
The cover has to be interesting and reflect the story somehow. If the story is great, people will stick around even if the cover's ugly as sin, but it'll be harder to get new people to come.
So: think about your content, be consistent, tell your artist what kind of content you want to do and let your artist do their work. Your ideas and hints about design are most likely fucking SHIT, despite what your beta-orbiters might've led you to believe.
