Quoted By:
I have, myself, full confidence that if all do their duty, if nothing is neglected, and if the best arrangements are made, as they are being made, we shall prove ourselves once again able to defend our oshi, to ride out the storm of this catastrophe, and to outlive the menace of termination, if necessary for years, if necessary alone. At any rate, that is what we are going to try to do.
That is the duty of a Haaton. That is the will of us pigs and our oshi. Haatons and others, linked together in their cause and in their need, will defend to the death their oshi, aiding each other like good comrades to the utmost of their strength. Even though our oshi may have fallen or may fall into the grip despair and all the odious apparatus of graduation, we shall not flag or fail. We shall fight for our oshi. We shall fight in every heart that remembers her. We shall remember her when her name is spoken. We shall remember in every echo of her song. We shall defend her, whatever the cost may be. We shall fight on the beaches of memory, upon the hills of hope; we shall fight through silence itself; we shall fight until the our oshi rises once more. We shall never surrender, and even if, which I do not for a moment believe, our oshi were to be taken from us, then the spirit of the strongest idol, armed and guarded by the love of her Haatons, would carry on the struggle, until, in Godchama’s good time, with all her power and might, our oshi returns to guide us haatons.
