No disrespect to Gura, she has earned her millions, but she's also one of, if not THE biggest vtuber with the most dead subs behind maybe kizuna ai because the people that came for ''uwu shark cunny'' left when she didnt do that. Hell after she took a break, some schizos turned their back on her because ''she didnt like being a streamer anymore''
Bae does great on retention, has a really solid fanbase (you can tell because the same fanartists that drew for her on her first days keep doing it and for the really high number of gold medals) and most importantly: She always has different avenues of new subs via collabs and different streams. People who dont know Bae/her style are more likely to be exposed to her than say Fauna because Bae will go out of her way to diversify the watcher pool.
Which is why Anya had so many troubles getting off the ground, since she was doing her own thing and practically refusing to collab with anyone except Ollie and ReineTLDR: Bae has similiarities to Mio, where they seem like they are lagging behind but they are playing the long game of building a solid fanbase like the good ol yt days, which pays off tremendously later on your carreer
