Horror is probably that one genre that any country in the world can do and still get a decent (or crazy) final product out of. There's a reason horror has always been the go-to low budget option for filmmaking and Italian slasher films have such a rich history.
Question is if Indonesia's horror film scene went the slasher direction also, most of the films she was talking about were this same '80's era I think. I hope she picks one over a more generic Hollywood option, last I checked the poll was at like 50% for an ID film so she'll hopefully stick with it.
