The only way to tell a groomer from a normal person is if this person eventually pushes for more:
- Asking about personal info in dms
- asking for real pics
- expressing wish to meet up in cons, or just asking what cons are you planning to assists.
A person with no intentions will ask nothing in return, your best viewer is he who donates anonymously, they are the real heros. Anyone else is sus. The whole thing is a minefield. Keep in mind every viewer who is in love with you wants you to be your girlfriend in real life, but some are clever enough to hide it, either out of shame or out of maliciousness.
As a general rule never give anything to those who ask for it: never give mod roles to someone asking for mod, never tell anyone about cons who ask you about them, never do real pics, ever. Set strong boundaries and make clear you will never date anyone from the scene and bad actors, regular viewers or vtubers will go find easier targets.

Artists have known since the primordial era to spread their efforts as not to draw aggro: draw her friends too! It will make her happy and keep the schizos out of your back. This is known in the hlgg circle as the Klaius principle: focus your love, and everyone will hate you, spread it around, and you become an asset to the vtuber community.
A local example: Hanabi was bullied like hell by the bea fans/schizos, but once he came to wvt he drew everyone, including males, and became universally loved.
