The complaints are initially sympathized with, but they push it so hard and hyperbolize it so much that the stories become less and less believable over time, and eventually it devolves into petty man bashing and bullshit whining over nothing. When the women spouting off accusations become unbelievable, the movement implodes and the relations between the sexes are worsened.
It always goes the same way because it's the deepest impulse of the female soul to simultaneously crave and resent male attention.
