>>14337080>japanese vtubers will eventually become a problem as their popularity grows in the west? No. Moralfags have already tried to cancel JP artists who draw lolis, meanwhile vtuber is more of a niche
Furthermore, some retards wanted to cancel individuals like Matsuri and Mamaloni in different occasions and they always got wrecked
>Lolicon content is still heavily frowned upon in the west, and alot of moralfags utilizing cancel culture to damage the reputation of vtubers is a conceivable outcome.Already been tried once with Gura, I would say she had plausible deniability by her side at the time but still, fans stood by her side.
Moralfags aren't focusing on vtubers, they're focusing on anime instead
>At least in hololive, we have some weird precedents; there have been multiple official artworks that censor the original character design of more "loli" like characters, making them appear more "mature" with larger breasts. Is this cover's plan? to try to hide the loli character designs from being super mainstream, by making promotional art appear less loli, whilst still leaving the original character models alone? Or were those promotional arts a fluke, are they not going to kneel whatsoever and just throw it all out there. Or the worst possible scenario, they censor the designs through and through (for western audiences). Now we're speculating. We can't really be certain, but things like Choco being worried about gaijins over mentioning shota time ago is proof that management knows
At least I'm certain that Hololive will not stop pandering to lolicons, even if they have to be subtle about it
>Maybe vtubers will become well known and liked enough to take away the stigma against loli stuff and lolicons, but probably not. It's actually something I think it's happening, not in the sense that normalfags stop considering lolicons as creepy but at least not being seen as evil predators. Again, vtubing is a niche so it will be a minority
Now, the current hate for lolicon is still very strong but some think it has gone too far and lolicon is slowly being demonstrated to not being necessarily pedo, so that stigma may be progressively disappearing
>they should make articles about this in relation to the vtuber community, instead of other gender issuesNo one's interested in this aside from vtweeters
To add to the aforementioned, there's a divide in the EN vtuber community and it shows the stance over this: the Hololive (and Nijisanji) fandom, and the rest of the community; the latter can be also divided in many groups: small agencies, VShojo, certain indies (Kana, Fallenshadow, etc), vtweeters, /wvt/, the list goes on. Many of these have certain overlaps, but you can clearly guess which are more involved with otaku culture and embrace this stuff
Being specific with Hololive, many of the vtubers themselves are lolicons and attract fans of the same breed. This is a fandom that gatekeeps itself, and I dare to say one of the safest when it comes to being a lolicon
