Extremely powerful but limited in deployment range and numbers, compared to the average civilian Risuners they are super soldiers.
So their existence is kept a secret because of two things
1. Intentional: The temples and shamans kept their order's existence hidden.
2. Unintentional: They are so limited and specialized not many has seen them. It's not like you get to see a schizo invade the Temple of Risu everyday, and there is no need to deploy them to fight a regular temple bandit.
Considering that Risu is a bunch of tribes with low communication, the latter method does all the work.
Any rumours from the temple grounds get muddled farther away.
For anyone living near a temple, the last time witches were deployed to fight gigayab schizo trolls were, 80 years ago. No reliable documentation methods exist so the locals forgot about them. Any merchant/migrant that saw the battles from far away would only remember vague descriptions. Which after years of telephone game, became a legend/myth.
