Kyo the character is chronically ill and in pain in his debut lore, so i can understand how even by going off a lore alone, hex and kyo could 'fit'. it's definitely pretty retarded to use his health as ship fuel but if he didn't want anyone depicting his character with it then maybe including it in his lore might not have been the best idea.
