Unless you're planning to be in this industry for a short time like 1-2 years like Coco, donations isn't your main indicator. Growth is what matters. Vtubers like Kobo and Mythia can bring new fans outside your typical vtubers fans who watch HoloID, Niji(RIP)ID, Maha5, etc. at the same time. You need that kind of fans or ID vtubers will forever be static like Niji ID.
Growth is important for ID vtubers because the digital economy will keep getting bigger (ID is among the fastest growing digital economy in the world) so in some years in the future they could rake more cash than average JP.
"How is that possible? Indonesia is poor." By per capita yes, but by total, Indonesia is a trillion dollars economy with 4th biggest population, meaning even if people could only donate in average of $3, it will add up because hundreds are donating.
That's the main argument why Niji and Holo are opening their branch in ID, and Niji ID is axed because they see no growth. Simple as that.
