He obviously does have a crush on her, obvious enough that even she's probably aware of it, but she'd never date a co-worker and ruin the one good thing she's achieved in her life.
He knows this and they may have even talked about it behind the scenes. Not gonna stop him from being awkward as hell around her but not every crush is worth pursuing.
Besides he can always just date one of the dozens of extremely hot Elira cosplayers to fill that Elira-shaped hole in his heart.
