Braids are OBJECTIVELY the best hairstyle in existence. They have not a single downside to them. They retain the eroticism and health of longer hair, but their simplicity and practicality makes it impossible for them to seem pompous. They expose the neck, but unlike ponytails, they don't form an extrusive piece of separate hair: they are concise, strong, recognizable and powerful. Braids have an identity of their own, yet remain fully part of the hair-at-large. They can move and they can hang; they can even be used as a weapon! Lastly, braids can be used in conjunction with any other hairstyle, in any quantity and size, and they will still look good.
I imagine one time, I was on a car, and just for a moment, I glanced out and caught a glimpse of the back of a woman, her hair collected into a single long brunette braid.
