Most interactions that happen infighting games aren't you guessing high/low or strike/throw. There's a lot that happens before that in, you need to think about how you move to approach your opponent, what moves to put out to stop their advances or counter attacks, etc. Even when you get put on the defensive there are a more interactions that just blocking or attacking when you start to learn each individual games defensive options and system mechanic. Fighting games become very interesting when you try to learn them properly.
