When you read old folklores like Roro Anteng, Candi Sewu, Rara Mendut etc etc you'll notice that the writers tend to describe those women to have kulit kuning langsat or kulit putih bercahaya.
This led to many Indonesian women to try to cover their darker complexion with whiter make ups that make them look like a clown sometimes. I remember there's a jarring line where her neck is still her natural color while her face look whiter than her neck. That's why it looks like a clown make up.
Farah Quinn is a girl I saw that actually utilize her darker skin with excellent make up. Rather than making her skin whiter, she made them more look amazing with make up. I immediately fell in love.
Sadly she's married to a bule. I guess most Indonesian men still prefer brighter skin. Shame on them
