>>35963390>>35962720i used to be an athlete during college and i'm also not a certified trainer but i can also give my 2 cents here.
ive spent around 1 and a half year going to the gym and not caring a lot about nutrition and although i lost a lot of weight i got stuck in somewhat acceptable shape but was not enough for me or my sport (volleyball)(i'm male i swear).
then i started going to the nutritionist and got a good diet, started whey and creatin and caffeine. i was REALLY strict about my diet and actually spent quite a bit of money (in nutri consultations and and dietary supplements) and got more gains and 6 months that all that 1,5 year before, and then maintained that for 2 or so years before covid started.
i'm really confident nutrition is 70% of your gains. for exercises i think you should focus on doing it right and not neglecting groups. i got a lot of colleagues that focused on lifting heavier instead of right, got lesions and had to stop for a couple of months (and losing gains in the process). if youre eating right and working out frequently you get steady and meaningful gains.
my whole point is eat right.
i lost most of it after i finished college and stopped playing and covid hit tho.
