I'm going to blogpost. If you don't know who I am then don't worry about it, but I don't care if you think this is the right place or not.
I'm back at the cat hospital. The same hospital I was at 7 months ago. They think it will be a four hour wait before he can be seen but they recommended me to wait here (it's like 30 or 40 minutes from my house depending on traffic.) I thought things were getting better in the seven or so months since the last time I blogposted, but it just gets worse and worse.
He can't even jump down from a ledge without having a coughing fit. He's realized it at this point and he just moves slowly everywhere. I didn't even consider if cats could be depressed, but it's how he looks. And now more than half the coughing fits end with him spitting up. This is new as of less than a month ago but he's been doing it daily now. He will make the most wretched sound, his body will jerk forward, and mucus liquid comes out. He's lost weight. He's not interested in food. Hell, he's not interested in his favorite treats either.
He has three different prescriptions now all of which seem to help fuck all (maintenance inhaler, rescue inhaler, liquid steroids). He threw up in his carrier on the way here and is just sitting in the hospital now by himself in his own vomit (I hope they cleaned him up by now.) Last week alone it was like $300 in blood tests and they found absolutely nothing.
He is 13 so he's not exactly young for a cat, but he was young enough that I thought we could still have another five years together. He is the closest thing I have to a child. It's really hard and it totally sucks and I just want him to get better.
If you have a pet, go tell them that you love them for me.
