near the end of ow1's lifespan it was basically abandoned in terms of new content because blizz was making ow2, promising a lot of campaign-style PVE missions
so people were upset the game got nothing new for a couple years but a lot of people were excited for the new PVE stuff
and then ow2 released and blizz dropped plans for PVE and everyone got pissed
and then they changed the format from 6v6 (2 of each role) to 5v5 (1 tank per team) which a lot of people hated (but i personally enjoy it)
a lot of people look back at ow1 with rose-tinted goggles but ow2 gets a lot more hate in its current state than i think is warranted because blizz keeps making promises and then letting everyone down
