Klara is actually an assassin that was born to become the ultimate weapon but now is living a normal life aiming for goal of becoming a full fledged maid. Just a massive coincidence she's serving the daughter of a former demon lord.
Ryoma is actually a samurai from the Shimazu clan during the Kyushu campaign he was already a well established elite warrior so he was given the secret mission to travel overseas and find a weapon powerful enough to defeat the Toyotomi clan.
So the man sailed and after a mysterious storm almost killed him he continued to travel for years and years until he realized it had been over 500 years. He landed in a place he didn't know and coincidentally met Twisty and you know the rest of the story.
