If you’re a bad manager they’ll just find better jobs and if they’re too good at their job and don’t see advancement enough they will quit anyway. People above you aren’t sympathetic, especially if it’s the corporate side of things and you’re not constantly driving up profits. There’s a reason most prog raid leaders in games like WoW are usually retail managers of some kind, and perpetually angry because they are doing what retail managers do best: wrangle tards all day to do simple work
