>>37156096>dont get an NVME, thats retarded and a meme. The r/w times on NVME are like 10x faster than SATA.
>Plus if I remember correctly (i still live in 2010), SSD's get slower the more they have>I'd say go with 2 instead of 1Most motherboards only have room for 1 NVME slot combined with the GPU since modern GPU's are fucking huge. 1tb SSD's are only ~$80-120 and they don't see a performance hit until you get into much larger capacities.
>the Ryzen 5 might bottle neck the 3080I'm aware of this but it didn't seem justifiable to jump up another $200 for a 5800x3D when I don't do any CPU heavy tasks besides emulating games. The 5600 is only like $100-120. All the CPU's between those two are only mild improvements, but if the 5600 is too weak to emulate on I'll just get something else. You may be right though.
>you dont need 32 GB of ramOh believe me I do, I often have hundreds of tabs open in Firefox just tucked away in different tab groups instead of saving bookmarks.
>>37156145Basically because I've bought Intel all my life and wanted to give AMD a try, no other reason. Their CPU's are nearly identical in price and performance in that gen and AMD motherboards are usually easier to get at a decent price since they used the same socket for like 4 years.
Initially I planned to try AM5 with the new 7700x but with how ridiculously overpriced the motherboards and DDR5 ram are it seemed like a huge waste of money. The upgrade path from a 5600 to a 5800x3D in 1 or 2 years seems more reasonable than waiting for AM5 motherboards to become affordable.
