>>91608060I feel like people greatly exaggerate what kayfabe means, in part because they're not used to hardcore weebs and idol fans and assume a lot of things that are just them are "part of the character"
Just yesterday there was someone in this thread complaining about kayfabe because of them denying they said ass, when you have picrel from 2013. They do not swear, it's who they are and the values they learned from their parents since they were children, it's not their "hololive family friendly character."
On week one they were in tears on stream talking about the people who told them over and over they should give up because they were no good, they always wear their hearts on their sleeves. It's just that the idol side, that most idol vtubers either take as a joke or first learned about it from other idol vtubers, are core to who they are. Anything they do that leans heavily on idol culture isn't kayfabe, it's them.
Saying dogtor instead of doctor isn't exactly heavy kayfabe. Paws instead of hands they actually use interchangeably, were called out on in chat and Mococo straight up said "it's the same thing, who cares."
The people saying their kayfabe gets in the way of them being real with their audience don't seem to actually watch them.
