I want to take you back to early 2022.
~~~ go back in time ~~~
Vox has an 11k average and Mysta is breaking new records every day. All of the NijiEN girls doubled their viewership in the past few months and the trend isn't stopping, they are even touching the hem of HoloEN. Enna the runt exploded to a 5k average and just keeps going higher. The branch's income is huge, dwarfing HoloEN, and even rivaling the biggest japanese vtubers on the market
The Nijis are the hot new item, exploding onto the scene like a rocketship, it seems like they're taking over. HoloEN is a mess, barely streaming, huge internal disputes, several talents just gave up entirely. Even moreso, they are starting to copy NijiEN's culture which is ascendant. Their audience is discontented, and often post Niji streaming schedules with jealousy like they're missing the party. The shitpost war between the two sides is at a fever pitch.
The Nijis are arrogant, they get caught talking smack on discord. They know they will win this 'all out war', it's only a matter of time.
The new ILuna wave is coming. Nijisanji is pouring money into it. These will be the most hyped debuts of all time. The best models, the best hires. This will be the knock out punch to Hololive's sad failing group, who just lost a member.
Then it comes, ILuna. Hundreds of thousands of people watch the debuts.
And then....
~~~ timewarp back ~~~
Nijisanji had a real chance to win the struggle for dominance in the western market. Hololive was a mess, the group was on the verge of ruin.
But ILuna failed. They even had a second chance with XSoleil which also failed. When Hololive debuted Advent, and we heard their glorious debut song, the window of opportunity closed forever. With that, history was sealed, Hololive and Hololive culture would reign supreme in the global market.
