Just look at something like /wah/ and Inas fanbase, there are some fan artists that mostly just do tako memes/art because its such a good mascot to play around and yeah it gives chance for people who suck ass at drawing anime grills to make some fanart.
I know, because i used to make alot of tako edits before Nade emerged.
