>>27418276Oh my god, I love this! I love the idea of the Kindred being a kind and accepting clan with a bit of an ulterior motive— to brainwash as many people into joining them and worshipping Vox as possible! The more followers of Vox, the better— no matter what they have to do to encourage more people to convert to the Kindred cult! It also makes me think about a different sort of traveler— a weary, down-on-their-luck, and hungry traveler who’s been searching for a drop of water or an ounce of meat for two days and has become so dehydrated and exhausted they’re surely seeing illusions and tripping over themselves. Finding themselves at the gate of the Kindred’s kingdom and the nearby guards/hunters/gatherers (or anyone who’d be out at an evening hour) taking notice and immediately taking the traveler in, no questions asked. The kindred are kind and helpful, sharing their food and shelter with this person despite them being a literal stranger, and asking for nothing in return… except for taking a visit to the nearby temple to offer thanks to Vox for the protection and safety.
