Maybe these girls feel bad for knowing that what they do is inherently predatory - that only they reap the benefits of a self-esteem boost and monetary gain.
Can you imagine what it would feel like, having thousands of people every day telling you how cute and funny and smart you are and they give you money. You might make them sane for a little while longer, and that's all you really give them so you feel bad, imposter syndrome creeps and in and you just HAVE to give them the talk.
I think this shit spills over to streams because of the distinction between western and Japanese work cultures - I'm sure the JPs air out their grievances amongst each other, but it doesn't spill over because they'd probably view that as complaining, and thus it's unprofessional. For better or worse, it's just much more common to bottle all that shit up in Japanese work culture, to grin and bear it.
The common point is that both ENs and JPs have largely the same opinion of their fanbase, that most are likely lonely loser men, which is probably why when most talk about dating they either want a full on normalfag or at the very least someone not in their fanbase or very into vtubers.
