Software as a Service is fucking cancer that has no place whatsoever in the consumer world. Apple unironically are the only fuckers that ever did it right, because it is free with minimal strings attached. You can grab an 8 year old MacBook and update it to the latest version of macOS with no issues. My Surface Pro 2 is a Microsoft product. No TPM, no Windows 11. People with 1-2 year old Surface products are locked out of W11 because the CPU is too "old". Niggers.
