You're trying to turn this into "do you have favorites?" when we already know they do. It's about making them acknowledge that they give some ruffians more attention than others, not maliciously, but they do.
This is why that one anon's idea with an SC talking about how the twitter algo might create a situation where they only see the same ruffians and then give them attention was much better.
