I'm specifically talking about Nationalism, aka an inherently unitarian idea about a nation-state's identity. It is by its nature, unfriendly to smaller cultures within a [secular geopolitical state], a political theory born out of the ashes of the french revolution and has influenced 20th-century political thought. And yes I do agree Indonesia is better classified as a country because of the many different peoples that reside in it, a situation they share with the Philippine peoples.
