The only reason It's a thing right now is because it stems from severe and entrenched dynamics of mass dysfunctional and deep levels of trauma and reactions to it being willfully misinterpreted, avoided and misdirected. Once that is faced and processed, I'd wager that gender dysphoria will either cease to exist, or at least become far more rare and not be taken to the extremes it is currently.
