Basically the premise is that in this world, there's night creatures and lovecraftian devils and gods, and they just love hanging around earth, since humans are like ants.
But a human that can perceive a spirit is no longer an ant, but a tasty morsel. Being able to ''see'' these creatures is entering their kill zone, and there's nowhere to run.
That's where the hunters enter. A bunch of people who received gifts from higher beings, be it for Shit and giggles (Like the Spiderqueen turning Akai Hato into a murderous Arachne) or for mutual Interest (Mako the Shark Guardian giving Gura powers as a gift for returning the Atlantis Trident to its shrine).
Whatever is the situation, you now have to team up with them. Will your survive? Will you be a burden or will you join the hunt?
In the history, Bae was Mori's sister from the orphanage. The original Bae is dead, and instead Chaos is using her body as a way of meeting humans, since she finds them interesting. Mori did a deal with the soul reaper. Once she slays enoughs souls, he will negotiate with Chaos and bring Bae back. If Mori dies before fullfilling her contract ,she will become the new reaper, enduring an eternity of suffering and feeding on souls
