Sio, the girl in the OP was one of the most popular vtubers around. Beloved by all and collabed with all the big names including holo and the most important indies like Tamaki and Ui, she even talked to Kizuna AI regularly.
Unfortunately, like all popular girls, she had her antis. One day during a glitch on a website her IP got leaked, however while this seems like a big deal to a 3rd worlder, a 1st worlder like Sio who lives in the country of Japan with full knowledge of internet security knows how to use a VPN to mask her IP in order to protect her home network and personal information.
However, because her antis are mainly chinese who have no idea how the internet works, they latched onto this IP and tracked it down on 5ch (who was labeling things with IPs at the time to avoid doxxing) and found every post made from that VPN's IP. In this list of posting were a few somewhat rude posts about other vtubers but nothing ridiculous or even that horrible. However because it was likely a VPN exit node, given the horrible security involved in releasing IPs publicly like that and only an idiot would access a website that does that with their real IP, it was highly unlikely these posters were even Sio in the first place.
1 thing lead the the next and she started getting death threats from her antis and eventually left the industry, making millions of people sad and depressed to see her go. She was so important to the industry that half of .LIVE, one of the companies she had close friendship ties with, all graduated in retaliation as well.
