This can work, and can be more fun than streaming.
If you're going to focus on video production you'll have to really concentrate on production value; Good thumbnail cards, background music, a decent script, graphics, and video content in your production. Whether you're doing reviews, a comical skit, or whatever you're going to have to give a shit about it because you're competing with everyone else on the planet on platforms like youtube and twitch.
If it's not video production specifically then you need to leverage whatever special talent you have; drawing, singing, coding, or whatever that you can fold into a video for easier consumption by the masses. I don't think anyone wants to commodify their art and reduce it to a product, but if you want it to be consumed you have to make it worth consuming at the very least.
