It's obvious the doctor has more medical knowledge then you. The way to tell if what he's suggesting is good or a scam is by using your feelings to deduce if he's sus or not. You can't use logical thought processes because you're dealing with a guy who has more knowledge than you, more experience, and is smarter than you. But humans, as all living animals, have a built in emotional system in our minds to determine if something is right or wrong. That's how you use feelings to keep yourself healthy, deduce if what your doctor is suggesting is right or wrong. and prevent catastrophic mistakes.
