>>29715999You know what? I think it's time for /vt/ to shift over to higher spec, community driven 3D skinsuits. Creator-driven 3/2D skinsuits were novel, but the novelty's worn off. Now there's a literal metric fuckton of special snowflake chubas competing with each other in a zero sum game for attention and views. I'd prefer they start organizing and consolidating themselves under loosely shared 3D identities, with the underlying shared identity being their chosen character/model rather than just a company affiliation.
In other words, I think Kizuna Ai's biggest problem was just being ahead of her time. 3D movement. Decent production values. A varied mix of prerecorded and live content. Multiple people using the same character to expand the character's abilities, appeal and reach beyond the original's. A character that could be various things to various people, all of whom were united under the banner of a single fictional character.
Maybe I'm completely wrong and retarded, and there's no telling what the future might hold, but vtubing does seem to have become so accessible it's developed potentially irreparable fragmentation problems that will presumably only get worse. Maybe separating the art from the artist might solve that issue.
