I scour the entirety of every steam nextfest and I've seen in real time how the advent of imagegen AI really fucked things up, because art assets were the big hurdle for the retards who thought their 2 months experience with unity was good enough to make and ship a game. there's that thing about having to mark games with AI assets in it, but steam doesn't give a fuck about enforcing rules for anything that isn't a pg13 japanese visual novel, so super blatantly AI shit won't even get filtered.
it's still not that hard to find good/promising games though, I have like 60 unreleased ones on my wishlist right now.
