>>88165543It was an interesting idea back when Lud made it popular with his because it was unique. The audience pays to keep the stream going and the streamer is trapped in front of the camera for the entire time (except for showering and shitting ofc). The issue is that most subathons kind of forgot the marathon streaming aspect and it just turned into 24h streaming. At least with Mouse she turned her annual subathons into charity events kind of like a (very loose) modern version of the old tv telethons but instead of a phone call its a TTS message. But most charity streams are like that already just in a much shorter time frame. Funny part is that there are streamers that already do 24h streams where they just run reruns, but I've noticed its mostly the twitch thots and the actual companies/orgs with a streaming channels that do these. I think the reason the twitch thots do it is because Amouranth did it and they would ofc copy her as she would be their "roll model" for what they do. I do wonder why more streamers especially if they are bigger and have the resources to set up a streaming server and hire a person or two to manage it, don't just run their stream 24h with reruns.
