>>76313244>Have you friends been doing your reps, too?Everyday for a little under an hour since I posted here and talked to our resident repGOD. It's sometimes a bit tedious, I admit, but I told myself that I'm in it for the long run. So I try to take it one step at a time.
I still don't understand much in terms of streams, but on subtitled clips I have one or the other moment where I'm thinking "hey I kinda get what this is about!" Easier tweets, I also slowly get a hang of.
>seem to forget characters immediately I regularly have that problem when I'm using my Tango N5 deck on itself. Half the time my Kanji feel guessed, the other half I kinda cobble them together from context. I never feel like "aha, so this Kanji means that, better remember it for next time" and it really gets fucky when between morning, noon and evening, I'm suddenly supposed to learn the five Kanji word for vending machine
(fuck you, 自動販売機!)Have you ever tried something like Wanikani? I know it's subscription shit, but it really gives me the feeling that I actually learn a Kanji with it's meaning, instead of "uhh this string of abstract fucking shapes could maybe mean X?"
The radicals and little stories help me immensely to the point I'd say I need them. Other's just seem to be better at pattern recognition than I am.
I hope you can pick your reps back up and stay on the journey, friend!
